Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Credit Sorted ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use our website and sign up for our free guide, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1. Who we are
Credit Sorted provides educational information to help UK consumers understand and improve their credit files. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected]. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
2. What data we collect
- Email address — when you sign up to receive our free guide.
- Your name — only if you choose to provide it.
- Technical & usage data — such as anonymised analytics (pages visited, device/browser type) collected to help us improve the site.
- Any information you send us — for example if you reply to an email.
We do not ask for, or store, sensitive financial details such as full credit report data, bank account numbers, or payment card numbers on this site.
3. How we use your data, and our lawful basis
- To deliver the free guide you requested — on the basis of taking steps at your request.
- To send you related educational emails and offers about improving your credit — on the basis of your consent, which you give when you sign up and can withdraw at any time.
- To operate and improve our website — on the basis of our legitimate interests in running an effective service.
4. Email marketing
We send our emails using MailerLite, which stores subscriber data on our behalf as a data processor. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time — we act on unsubscribe requests promptly.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our service, and only as needed:
- MailerLite — email delivery and list management.
- Payhip — hosting and delivery of our guides and products.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security and performance.
- Google (Google Analytics 4) — website analytics and traffic measurement.
- Meta Platforms (Meta/Facebook Pixel) — measuring the performance of our adverts and, where applicable, showing you relevant ads on Meta platforms.
Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK/EU-approved transfer mechanisms) are in place.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our active marketing lists.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access the data we hold about you; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to its processing; request portability; and withdraw consent at any time (this won't affect processing already carried out). To exercise any of these, email [email protected].
8. Cookies, analytics & advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies — needed to make the site work.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — sets analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site (for example which pages are viewed) so we can improve it.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — sets advertising cookies that let us measure the results of our adverts and, where applicable, show relevant ads to you on Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram (retargeting).
The Google Analytics and Meta Pixel cookies are non-essential. You can control or block them through your browser settings; you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on, and you can manage how your data is used for ads in your Meta ad preferences.
9. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can help. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
